Formed in 2022 by acclaimed drummer Carter Skillicorn,The Killerhorns are a 6-piece powerhouse funk and soul outfit. Combining some of Scotland’s most in-demand funk and session musicians, their sound is the perfect blend of familiarity and revitalisation. With an extremely tight and energetic set showcasing fantastic musicianship, their music blends old-school New Orleans rhythms with JB’s-inspired rhythm and horn sections, pulling inspiration from modern titans such as Ghost-Note.
The band is led by Carter Skillicorn on drums, featuring Alex James on guitar, Stephen Jack on bass, and Michael Watson on keyboards. The “Killer Horns” are Jonny White on saxophone and Chris Small on trombone.
The band are resident musicians and regular presences in Edinburgh’s famous The Jazz Bar, and individually their playing and touring experience extends throughout the UK and Europe. If you’re at a Killerhorns gig, be prepared for non-stop energy and immaculate vibes.
