With a classic yet original take that brings together orchestral harmonicas, piano, and vocals, IL Harmonica Trio presents the richness of South American music to European audiences. Tango and milonga, folk rhythms from Argentina and Uruguay, the drive of Brazilian choro, the elegance of the Peruvian waltz, and the groove of Caribbean son all converge, enriched by the improvisational spirit of jazz — present both in the trio’s approach and in its interpretation of jazz and fusion standards. The repertoire includes original compositions alongside works by other composers, arranged by the group with a distinctive sound and sensibility.
A musical journey where tradition, emotion, and spontaneity meet.
In addition to live performances, the trio is also active in educational and cultural settings, offering workshops, masterclasses, and interactive concerts that spark curiosity and appreciation for orchestral harmonicas. It has participated in major events such as the SPAH Convention in the U.S., with a didactic concert in 2021 and a live show in 2023. At this year’s edition, the group’s bassist, Andrés Chorny, will launch the first YouTube channel dedicated exclusively to the bass harmonica — a pioneering initiative to share knowledge and resources with players around the world.
In 2025, as it celebrates its 14th anniversary, IL Harmonica Trio released its third studio album, accompanied by audiovisuals, and will embark on a European tour.
